HALLOWEEN PLANS UNDERWAY!

Thursday, October 6, 2005 — In just over three weeks, the streets of Millsberry will be filled with ghouls and goblins! Don't be scared, though - it's just Halloween! Although the holiday is still several weeks away, a group of Millsberry Academy students have already made many exciting plans for their very own spooky Halloween celebration, complete with cool, new costumes, creepy decorations, and scary snacks.

"There's so much to get ready," Metro Park's Alex Sanchez told the Millsberry Gazette. "The party will be held in my garage on Halloween night, but all my friends are pitching in," he continued. "My friend Tasha is doing the decorations. I'm sure she's going to have plenty of spooky surprises in store! I'm really glad that everyone was so eager to help, because I'm going to need lots of time to make my costume. It's gonna be great!"

Tasha Jackson, of Lakeview, has many ideas for making the party extra-scary, but she's keeping most of them to herself. "Some of the decorations can be made at home," Tasha said. "For example, I'm going to ask my parents to help me carve lots of jack o' lanterns. I'll be picking up the things that I can't make at home from Tricks, Toys & Games. I can't tell you any more than that!"

Even the party's menu is going to be a little scary. Eleni Petrakis, from Westridge, is in charge of preparing a special Halloween feast, which will include plenty of spooky yet healthy fare. "It's easy to make scary snacks using simple foods from the Grocery Store," Eleni told the Gazette. "In addition to the usual candy treats, we're going to have caramel apples, and plenty of veggies to snack on, maybe with a spooky twist or two."

All of the planners were very secretive about their costumes, so they must have something special in mind. "The Clothing Store has a great selection of costumes," said Tasha, "but you'll just have to wait until the big night to see which one I chose!"

There are many great ideas you can use to put together your own Halloween party. Why not decorate your home for the holiday and invite all your friends to come and see it? You can also use the address book to find your friends' homes in Millsberry and check out their scary decorations!
