SUMMER FASHION FORECAST
By Loretta Rivers
Clothing Store owner
Thursday, June 14, 2007 — Greetings, my dear citizens! I'm happy Audrey's asked me to write another article. I've had a lot of people come up to me on the street and ask, "When will there be cool summer clothes in your store?" Well, the answer is... today!

I'm really into the trends this year. I've designed simple, wearable clothes for boys and girls based on fashions I saw on runways all over the world! Well, that's not quite true. I saw pictures of the fashion shows in the insider magazines I get delivered to my house. Unfortunately, I won't be going to a big European fashion show anytime soon, because I have a fear of flying! But that's beside the point. Man, staying on topic in my writing is hard!

So anyway, Millsberry is getting the Loretta Rivers version of what's hot to wear when it's hot out. For boys, it's out with plain, everyday hats, and in with bright visors or a printed baseball cap. Boys are also sporting comfy polos, T-shirts, and Hawaiian-print button-downs. Lightweight cotton is the way to go this season! And boys, don't forget to don a cool pair of shades to protect your eyes from that intense sun.

For girls, I've designed soft sundresses for everyday wear. And of course, the classic tank is a must for summer. Let your feet breathe in cute sandals. And top off your outfit with some cool or funky sunglasses. We've got a good selection at the store. Pair one of your favorite light-colored skirts with a cute t-shirt and you're totally summer-ready! Bright, springy colors are in.

Some other summer staples that I've had in years past are coming back to the store, too. I'm waiting for the shipments to come in, but check back soon so you can go on a shopping spree! See you at the Clothing Store!

MAKING WAVES

Been to Sylvane Lake recently? Sylvie's still delighting citizens who are lucky enough to spot her. I've been noticing some warm winds coming in from the lake that create beautiful rippling waves. It makes me think of my dad, who loves the ocean. Father's Day is this Sunday, June 17, so I'll be sending him a greeting card for sure.

I sometimes miss the West Coast because I could see the Pacific Ocean from my house there. If only someone could bring the ocean to Millsberry!
