DISCOVER YOUR INNER ARTIST!

Thursday, March 15, 2007 — Have you ever dreamt about becoming the next Claude Monet or Paul Gauguin? This month in Millsberry, along with learning about nutrition, we're celebrating famous artists, and inspiring Millsberry's own future art stars!

In art class, Millsberry citizens can create their own masterpieces and show off their skills to the rest of the community. But until now, citizens have not been able to set up their own art studios at home. The Gazette is pleased to announce that Tricks, Toys & Games will now offer all the art supplies you need to set up a creative space all your own!

Ryan Weber of Golden Valley plans to convert his attic into a place to unwind and paint after school. "I'll set up my easel near the window so that I can paint sunsets," he remarked. "I think the extra practice will definitely help me the next time I'm in art class."

Many of the most well-known artists began creating art at a young age, while others found their calling much later. Pablo Picasso showed great passion and talent as a boy, so his artist father strongly encouraged him to pursue the craft. Henri Matisse, on the other hand, was a law student who began painting while bedridden with appendicitis. Will you discover your hidden talent while young, or through some other fateful circumstances later in life? One thing is for sure—there is no shortage of creativity and inspiration in Millsberry!

Of course, painting is not the only way to express oneself. If painting isn't your thing, there's drawing, collage, sculpture, and many other art forms. A lot of art is the combination of many distinct styles. So while the new items at Tricks, Toys & Games are paint-and-canvas focused, don't let that stop you from exploring your preferred artistic method!

Enjoy the new art materials, and look forward to more exciting art news next week!

MILLSBERRY IN BLOOM

Everything's coming up green these days. Mrs. Seashore, Coach Danner, and Harold Ettin's efforts have sent kids to the Grocery Store for green produce such as grapes, broccoli, and lettuce. And St. Patrick's Day is coming up March 17, so there will certainly be more emerald hues around town.

Get in the spirit by picking up a book at Bookends Bookshop about the history of St. Patrick's Day, or decorating with some fun new wallpaper at Peterson's Construction and Hardware Emporium. And don't forget to wear green on Saturday—or you'll get pinched!
