RULE 1. HOW TO PLAY
Look for specially marked packages of Trix cereal. If your box screams when you open it, you are a winner. A certificate inside the screaming box will confirm that you are a winner and will describe your prize. If your box doesnÂ’t scream upon opening and there is no certificate describing your prize, you are not a winner. All winning certificates are subject to verification and are void if altered, illegible, copied, tampered with, or if not obtained through legitimate channels. To redeem a winning certificate, see rule 4. SWEEPSTAKES ENDS May 31, 2006.
For a free entry and an equal chance to win, hand print your name, address and zip code on a 3"x5" piece of paper (mechanical reproductions void) and send to Trix Halloween Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 72712, Rockford, MN 55572-7012. Limit one request per outer envelope received by May 31, 2006. Only winners will be notified by July 30, 2006.
RULE 3. PRIZES
ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE: The grand prize is one (1) check for $10,000. Retail value of the grand prize is $10,000. Odds of winning the grand prize are approximately one in four million two hundred thousand (1 in 4,200,000).
ONE (1) FIRST PRIZE: The first prize is one (1) check for $1,000. Retail value of the first prize is approximately $1000. Odds of winning the first prize are approximately one in four million two hundred thousand (1 in 4,200,000).
ONE HUNDRED NINETY-NINE (199) SECOND PRIZES: Each second prize is one (1) check for $100. Retail value of each second prize is approximately $100. Odds of winning a second prize are approximately one in twenty-one thousand one hundred six (1 in 21,106).
Any taxes are responsibility of winner. No transfers or substitution of prizes allowed except as provided herein. Total value of all prizes is approximately $30,900.
RULE 4. HOW TO REDEEM YOUR PRIZE: Grand and First Prize winning certificates must be sent by registered mail to Trix Halloween Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 35, Maple Plain, MN 55359. Second Prize winning certificates should be sent by First Class mail to: Trix Halloween Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 72713, Rockford, MN 55572-7013. Winning certificates must be received by June 15, 2006. Grand and First Prize winners will be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release within fourteen days of notification or forfeit prize. General Mills may require that any prize won by a minor be awarded in the name of a parent or guardian.
RULE 5. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
By participating, you agree to these rules and the judgesÂ’ decisions, which shall be final and legally binding in all matters relating to this sweepstakes. General Mills (which includes its affiliates and each of their agents, officers, employees, licensees and all parties associated with this sweepstakes) reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize is unavailable for any reason. If for any reason there are more valid prize claims than the number of listed prizes in any prize category, a random draw will be held to award the listed number of prizes in that category among all winning entries. General Mills is not responsible for lost, destroyed, delayed, incomplete, illegible or misdirected materials. General Mills may modify or rescind this sweepstakes without liability in the event of printing or production errors. Winner(s) agree to use of name and likeness for publicity purposes without further compensation, where legal. By accepting prize, winner release
General Mills of all liability. As a condition of entering this sweepstakes, you agree that: (1) any and all claims, judgments and awards are limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred in entering this sweepstakes; and (2) you waive all rights to claim any other damages, including punitive, incidental and consequential damages and attorneys' fees. Sweepstakes is subject to all laws of the United States. Void where prohibited.
RULE 6. SECOND CHANCE DRAWING
No purchase necessary. If all prizes are not awarded in the Trix Halloween Sweepstakes they will be awarded in a second chance random drawing after the instant win sweepstakes ends on May 31, 2006, from all eligible non-winning entries received from the mail-in entries in Rule 2 above. Second chance drawing (if necessary) will be held on or about July 15, 2006. Only winners will be notified. The decisions of the independent judges are final.
RULE 7. ELIGIBILITY
You must be a legal resident of the U.S. to be eligible to win. Employees of General Mills, its affiliated companies, its advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, and their immediate families and household members are not eligible. Void in Puerto Rico.
