With Father's Day a few days away everyone is trying to think of the best way they can honor the very important man in their lives.Editor-in-Chief
Will Wexley was seen driving around town and stopped for some ice cream at the Scoops Parlor. We asked him what he prefers to do on Father's Day. He said, "Well this is heaven. Sitting right here with a milkshake and not having to do anything for a bit. I told my kids I just want to enjoy some ice cream or something sweet."
If you're looking for some sweet refreshing ideas to impress your dad, head to Bookends and pick up "Sweet Summer Recipes" and learn how to make a Peach Freeze--the perfect summer-pick-me-up.
We also ran into Detective Arthur Crow taking a much-needed break. "My weeks are jam-packed with overnight shifts and catching those who break the law. I am really looking forward to my holiday. My family has a tradition of watching old black and white westerns. It's what makes me happy and if I have the company of my family, I'm even happier."
Well that was sweet. The truth is, the best gift you can give your dad is just doing whatever it is he wants to do.
Frankie Ruiz from the Pet Palace was excited to chime in on the conversation: "If the weather is hot enough I plan to turn on the sprinkler in the backyard and lay out in my new retro beach chair. The kids come out to jump in the sprinkler and my lawn and plants get watered! It's the perfect way to spend a Sunday."
Rosie Ruiz (Frankie's wife) chimed in and said, "I thought we were planning on jumping on the trampoline in the backyard on Sunday?"
Frankie laughs and said, "I change my mind all the time. We'll see how the weather turns out."
So hopefully you've been inspired to treat your father to some relaxation and surprises. Some perfect gifts are beach hats, sandals, grilling tools, books, a new tie...and the list goes on. So get creative and have a happy Father's Day!
