Deck the Halls with New Fall Fashion
Thursday, September 2, 2010 — It was as if we had stepped into the pages of a clothing catalog. The halls of Millsberry Academy were flooded with some of the most stylish threads we'd ever seen. From chunky boots to shiny jewelry, we wondered what the occasion could be!

We also caught sight of Mrs. Seashore, longtime Millsberry Academy teacher, walking down the hall with a crowd of girls in tow--wearing a stunning, 1950's-style dress. Fortunately, we managed to ask her a few questions about the fashion explosion before she tended to her homeroom class.

Gazette: "So, what's with all the new fashions we're seeing?"

Mrs. Seashore: "Fall in Millsberry means one thing to me: The season of Loretta's magic! Have you seen her new fall line?"

Gazette: "Ah-ha! 'Tis the season! No, we haven't seen it yet. What's on the fashion menu?"

Mrs. Seashore: "Well, you'll see everything you need to see right here in the halls! Everyone must have been shopping 'til they dropped! For girls, there are some sweetly-patterned knee-highs. And that pattern is called "fair-isle." You'll also notice a dramatic-looking coat in the shape of a cape."

Gazette: "That cape coat is very Little Red Riding Hood. How about some of the boys; fashions?"

Mrs. Seashore: "The one item I can't keep my eyes off--because I wish they were also made for women--are the beige, suede boots with leather toe-cap. Check 'em out on Mr. Fort!" (Mr. Fort, the science teacher, smiled at us and waved as he walked past, modeling off his new suede boots. Snazzy indeed!)

Gazette: "Those are neat. Anything else?"

Mrs. Seashore: "You'll also notice new blazers and jeans. But I won't give the rest away. You should go see for yourself."

Gazette: "And what are you wearing?"

Mrs. Seashore: "Well, the styles of the '50s and '60s are definitely making a comeback. And this dress is part of Loretta's new line. The skirt portion of the dress is called an 'A-line' because it's wide and flares out in the shape of the letter 'A.'"

Our interview drew to an abrupt end as the bell rang and Mrs. Seashore and her A-line dress quickly darted into homeroom. Nonetheless, if any of us at the Gazette still needed a reason to go shopping, Mrs. Seashore certainly had us sold!

And you can shop for these new styles too. Just play hard in the Arcade to win some Millsbucks, then hop on over to the Wearhouse to reward yourself with some new fall threads!
