SO MUCH TO GIVE THANKS FOR IN JUST ONE DAY
By Everett F. Stevens
Staff Writer
Tuesday, November 20, 2007 — In honor of the holiday Mayor Trumble held a special Thanksgiving Dinner at Town Hall. The table was nicely set with a Turkey, two elegant candles, plates, and silverware that the Mayor got at Millsberry Furniture Store. Millsberry Gazette Staff Writer Everett F. Stevens was present to cover the special dinner and report Mayor Trumble's thoughts about Thanksgiving.

Everett: What does Thanksgiving mean to you, Mayor Trumble?

Mayor Trumble: Thanksgiving, for me, is a time to come together with the people close to me to give thanks and celebrate all of the positive things we have in our lives. The food is a big part of that celebration, but I think you have to look past the food and football in order to really see what the holiday is about. The food is just symbolic of everything we're thankful for and a way to celebrate that.

Everett: So what would you say you're giving thanks for this year?

Mayor Trumble: Well, I think I'm always thankful to be in good health. That's something that's extremely valuable. It's easy to overlook that, or take it for granted, but I always have to give thanks for my good health.

Everett: What other things are you thankful for?

Mayor Trumble: I would definitely have to say that I'm also thankful for my friends and family.

Everett: Why are friends and family so important to you?

Mayor Trumble: They're so important to me simply for the fact that they're the people I know I can always count on. They're the people who are always there for me no matter what's going on. To me that's priceless. Those are the kind of people who are going to be the most positive influence on your life. You really need people like that in your life.

Everett: What else are you thankful for right now?

Mayor Trumble: Well, I guess I'd also have to say that I'm thankful for the food. We've got such a great dinner here, but you've got to keep in mind the less fortunate out there. Some people don't have food to eat everyday. It's a hard thing to think about sometimes, but it's something that's important, and that's not going to get better without effort.

Everett: What sort of effort do you think is necessary, or would help?

Mayor Trumble: Volunteering at the soup kitchen is always a great way to help out people in need. I always find it funny how satisfying helping out other people feels. It's like you're giving back to the community and the less fortunate, but you also get a gratifying feeling from it.

Everett: I've volunteered in the past as well, and that's definitely true. Is there anything else you're thankful for?

Mayor Trumble: I'd have to say I'm thankful for the citizens of Millsberry. They make the city what it is. Millsberry wouldn't amount to a lot without the people who live here. They're what makes it so great. Like the Gazette staff, for example; The Gazette has turned out some really good articles, and I'm sure this one will be no different. I know you're one of the younger writers there, but I think you've got a bright future ahead of you.

Everett: Well, I guess we all really do have something we can be thankful for.
