Meet Verk, our citizen of the week!
Verk lives at 14374 Powder Horn Circle in the beautiful neighborhood of Westridge. He moved to Millsberry on June 27, 2005, and is currently enjoying his first winter in town, sledding on King's Hill and building snowmen with his friends.
One of Verk's most striking characteristics is his curiosity. He has an amazing thirst for knowledge, and loves to spend time either exploring new places or investigating new things. This curiosity may be responsible for Verk's love of history. Verk has been known to spend hours at a time in Millsberry Academy's library, reading accounts of past wars, studying the extinction of various dinosaur species, or researching his own family tree.
In fact, it was Verk's curiosity that recently led him to the Millsberry Recording Studio. At first, he just listened to the songs of other artists, but then Verk decided to try his hand - and his voice - at recording a few tracks of his own. The resulting songs had the laid-back quality of new age, the complex sounds of jazz, and the passionate lyrics of classic rock. Verk was very pleased with his work, and apparently so were many other Millsberry residents, because one of Verk's tracks immediately shot to the top of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Top Ten chart!
In addition to music, Verk also loves games and is always eager to try something new. Verk has recently been having lots of fun playing hockey at the new rink in Peabody Park. Though he's still new to the game, Verk gives his best effort every time he steps on the ice, and he's already made a great deal of improvement! While Verk likes a challenge, his witty, easygoing personality ensures that the games never get too aggressive. During the spring and summer, Verk can usually be found in the park, tossing a football around with his friends or making chalk drawings on the sidewalk in bright, bold shades of magenta, orange, and indigo. Verk is very flexible about how he spends his time, though, so he's equally comfortable playing outdoors or hanging out at the movie theater and the arcade.
Thanks for being a good citizen, Verk, and congratulations on being named Millsberry's citizen of the week!
